I play guitar, but I have mostly worked as a vocalist. I have performed in a range of venues over the years, as a solo performer providing background music, or as part of a duo or trio, or as a band member. I was the lead vocalist for Christchurch covers band 'The Crystal Set' for roughly six years. I've been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with some amazing musicians over the years, and I've loved performing a wide variety of musical genres - from pop, folk/country, to jazz, gospel/soul, rock, Motown and disco!
I can provide folk/easy listening music as a soloist, or a wider range of music as part of a duo (two guitars and vocals). I can perform a mixture of covers and originals, and my duo can tailor a set to suit your needs.
I also provide a mobile DJ service - for weddings, parties, school discos and pubs. I own all my gear for this. I operate using a laptop and 'Mixmeister' mixing software, plus two stand-mounted 15'' JBL Eon515XT powered speakers and a Mackie Pro-FX mixer. I also have a lighting rig - consisting of a light stand and several different, high quality lights. I have a smaller, single unit PA system if required (this can be plugged in or battery powered).
Karaoke or more of a 'jam session' required for your venue or function? No problem! I also work with another mobile DJ - 'DJ Double-D' (Dave Duckworth) - who has a full set up for karaoke, plus audio tracks with music videos, if this is required. Whether using his mixer or mine, we have plenty of inputs to allow for multiple singers at once and/or acoustic guitars to be plugged in. If it's an open mic night or private jam session I can also provide a semi-acoustic Takamine guitar (with built-in tuner), plus a Casio CTK-691 stand mounted keyboard. Microphones can also be supplied.
