DJ Soleveni (Timaru)

My name is Sitiveni Sa'u but I am also known as DJ Soleveni. The name was selected to fit our purpose and our branding in the entertainment industry. Since moving down to Dunedin in 2009, I found it hard for our polynesian people to get a DJ or Band that plays the type of music genre that suits them. Therefore most of them just play music from a youtube playlist and most of the time it doesn't really bring out the vibes they hope for. 

I also discovered that the old generations (myself included lol) are not really into the club's sort of music types and they prefer dancing or listening to the oldies etc. 

With that in mind, I started doing djing on the side as a hobby on the weekend and it is still going even today. I also make myself available with one of my mates to pick up any extra work from Dave and the Gravity events. So also volunteer our time to host free community events, like Marist Otago annual dance fundraiser, the Dunedin polynesian communities events, church events, school disco etc. 

We DJ and provide live sound for fight nights in Balclutha a few times now with the last one last year.

We had DJ before in Ashburton, Temuka, Timaru, Twizel, Queenstown, Wanaka, Tairei head, Lawrence, Balclutha, Invercargill to name a few.
